2025 Yard of the Month

Yard of the Month Wexwood Glen Community Association

A “Yard of the Month” is selected every June, July and August by the Wexwood Glen Community Association Beautification Committee. All residences (family-owned or rented) are considered.

Criteria:

Yard is well-groomed and maintained (grass is cut and manicured, shrubbery is trimmed).
Grass should be healthy, with few bare spots.
The curb in front of the residence is free of grass clippings and yard debris, leaves, over growth, etc. and litter.
Yard is free of litter, junk and debris (no appliances on porches or patios).
Yard is free of junked or inoperable vehicles, and there are no vehicles parked on grass areas.
House numbers are visible on property.
Garbage cans/trash receptacles are not visible in the front of the residence.
Resident has gone far beyond just cutting the grass and trimming the shrubbery by including color and texture such as adding rocks, straw beds, colorful mulch, a fountain, flowerbeds, attractive seating area, and/or attractive mailbox area to create unique, attractive curb appeal.
The upkeep of the yard can reflect the efforts of the residents themselves OR that of a professional landscaper.

Rules:

Yard of the Month sign will remain in the yard of the winner from the first day of the month until the last day of the month.
Wexwood Glen will have three (3) winners each for June, July, & August.
Yards will be judged on the last weekend in the previous month for the following month.
Each yard is limited to winning the award only once in a calendar year.
Winners are honored as follows: A “Yard of the Month” award sign will be placed in the resident’s yard for a period of 1 month; and resident, if WGCA dues are current, will receive a $25.00 gift certificate (Home Depot or Lowe’s).
